When the only option for secure anchorage is to tie-off at foot level a leading-edge lanyard is your only choice for complete fall protection. Leading-edge, as defined by OSHA, means the unprotected side and edge of a floor, roof, or formwork for a floor or other walking/working surface (such as a deck). Leading-edge lanyards are designed to resist damage such as friction or fraying that would result in breakage when used over a sharp leading edge. These lanyards are the only recommended choice when there is no overhead anchor point available.
